PhoneGap Google Maps Example
December 19th, 2011Here is a quick little Google Maps example running in PhoneGap, You can copy the example index.html from this post.
The idea of this “app” is to get the user’s current location using the inbuilt PhoneGap “navigator.geolocation.getCurrentPosition”. Then input the longitude and latitude into a Google Maps API image source so the user can see their position. Obviously by itself it’s pretty useless, but the basis of this is pretty clever, and can lead to some great ideas.

Image is a coded version of the design by Richard Tabor
I finally got around to adding a “labs” section to my site, found here. I still need to finish the design, but the temporary design is okay for now.
It’ll mostly feature designs that I found on dribbble, made by other people, that I want to code into a “working example”. I’m using it to improve my skill’s with jQuery (JavaScript) and CSS.
Of course you could always send me some design’s or ideas if you’d like them visualised and coded into a “working example”, I’ll appreciate it.
If I happen to use one of your designs, I will always (try my best at least) to tweet you or contact you to let you know I have coded it. If this is a problem and you would like it removed, simply ask, I will.
While I’m here, I’ll mention that I’ve updated the RSS feed to a FeedBurner Feed, so you could resubscribe if you wanted.

My Collection of Web Design Inspiration
November 4th, 2011I have all these links as bookmarks, but I decided I’d upload them all like this.
I guess it helps incase the designs change.
I warn you, this might be quite pic heavy!
iPhone App Development with PhoneGap
October 29th, 2011After reading this post here by Zac Vineyard on uploading an image to a remote server using PhoneGap, I decided I’d give it a go myself, I used his code and produced an app. I then modified the code a little to make it a bit more “user friendly”, for example, Zac’s app simply uploaded the photo instantly to the server once the user chose a photo. I changed the code to upload the photo once a button is clicked, a simple bit of javascript, but useful and a bit more user friendly.

September 26th, 2011It’s not what you know, but who you know.
Knowing someone “in the loop” or “popular” can definitely get you places and give you opportunities.
